About Us

Our mission is to help others and have fun doing it!
This venture is not a one man show. The reason it exists is because of the passion of my wife Pamela to help me help others, our Pastors Tom and Matt, and our many friends and family who see the value this business brings to others and give freely of their time to make this a success. Shout out to: Jeffrey, Chanda and Christian, Jill and Tyler, Christy and Tanner, Tom, Betty and Howard, Todd and Cheryl, Butch and Burma, Jim (Pa) and Sally (Ma), Jim and Susan, John and Priscilla, Ron, our Monte Vista Family, Breakfast Club - Keith, John, Richard and Pa, and local business who carry our products. Also big shout out to my Instagram friends (best hot sauce fanatics on the planet), Facebook friends, and our friends abroad Eugenie and Eric in Belgium!
This hot sauce is for everyone! If you are a Newbury Park resident you simply must have it as a staple in your pantry! Are you a Newbury Park’er? Do you know that our largest landmark is Old Boney Mountain? Have you hiked old Boney from the Wendy drive trailhead? If you do, you will run across some of the silhouettes on the bottle of Old Boney Mountain hot sauce. First you will see the old windmill, then the waterfall, then the rock chimney, if you persist through the pain, you will reach the peak! What a great day hike!
In 2019 Old Boney Mountain opened a 501 (c)(3) corporation called Old Boney Mountain Foundation for Kids. We opened to build programs to help guide underprivileged kids reach their full potential in life. with a non-profit people now have the ability to donate and get a little tax break for their generosity.
Old Boney is in business first to help others then to have fun. If we end up making a few bucks great, but if we don’t, we still will have accomplished our mission. Every bottle sold generates charitable contribution to our many selected charities regardless of our balance sheet. That contribution comes straight off the top!
History of Old Boney Hot Sauce Corp
While we have been in business since 2011, we did not begin formally selling the product until August 11, 2013. We gave it away. Pastor Tom at Monte Vista (Mountain View) Presbyterian Church in Newbury Park (at the base of Old Boney Mountain) suggested we partner with charities to not only bring a great tasting hot sauce to the world but also generate funds to help others around the globe and locally. Pastor Tom is also the inspiration behind our selection of the bible verse on the original label. Check out the verse on every product!
Who We Support
We started our organization contributing to Waiting 4 Water charities (including Lifewater International) We transitioned to Lifewater International in February 2015. The water charities represent people with the most basic needs in the world, water. We added 3 other organizations; Food Share of Ventura County, Wounded Warrior Project, and Newbury Park High School, Arts and Athletic programs. We transitioned from Wounded Warrior Project to Semper Fi Fund in 2017.
Food Share of Ventura County: A close friend and mentor is the Chairman of the Board at Food Share. I have worked with Bryan for the past 13 years and he has been a leader at Farmers Insurance who walks his talk when it comes to helping others. His example is inspirational, and this cause is a good one. This food bank contributes significantly to reduce hunger in our county and deserves every dime we can give.
Semper Fi Fund: My Father James Losey Senior is a Marine. When we developed Semper Fi Jarhead Red Reaper Hot Sauce, we also partnered with the Semper Fi Fund to help raise money for Wounded Veterans. Our good friend Todd Penrose (also a Marine) pushed me hard to develop this sauce and is also our #1 Salesman!
Newbury Park High School Arts and Athletic programs: I am a graduate of Newbury Park High School as are my wife and 4 children. My wife of 30 years and I are blessed to have 4 kids that are athletes and artists. In fact, all 6 of us have benefited from athletic and arts programs at NPHS. It’s sad to see that as funds get tight at the schools these programs suffer. Old Boney Mountain Hot Sauce Corp is dedicated to helping these programs live, so the students can benefit as much as we have.
Forest Home Christian Conference Center: I was fortunate growing up to have been introduced to Forest Home summer camp through our church. Old Boney is now proud to say that we run a fundraiser every year to raise money to send kids to summer camp.
Grossman Burn Foundation: The Grossman Burn Foundations mission is to promote effective sustainable partnership solutions for the comprehensive treatment, care, and support of burn survivors and their families in the United States and around the world. (866) 411-4423
In addition to these organizations, we also contribute to many local causes such as the YMCA, local Baseball and Soccer programs as well as individuals in need of some assistance.
Why Hot Sauce?
We have been passionate about sauces and spicy recipes for over 25 years. Having had the opportunity to travel extensively and visit hundreds of diners, greasy spoons, hot dog stands, and watering holes, we have had the pleasure of sampling some of the finest and spiciest sauces, sandwich spreads, and chili's. WE LOVE HOT SAUCE!
Why start now?
We ate some hot sauce in St. Thomas that I just had to try and replicate. It was homemade by a chef at a poolside bar and grill at Bluebeards Castle to go along with a breakfast burrito. It was amazing! I now strive every day to find that level of heat and flavor in a hot sauce. Now we offer the best of what we make to the public!
At Old Boney we strive to make every bite an experience!
This is the history of Old Boney Mountain Hot Sauce! What is the future? That is up to you!
Testimonials
"I had found Old Boney hot sauce while browsing around in Instagram shortly after starting on my own journey with peppers and hot sauces and instantly became intrigued with Jeff and Pamela's mission, more than just their sauces. At first I just thought they were another company; grow, produce, sell, that's it. However, it wasn't until their interest in my own disease that showed how much these two, along with everyone else in the Boney family, actually cared for those around them. I was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma, an aggressive b-cell cancer back in April. I remember one day, opening my phone and it saying that I received a notification on Instagram from Old Boney Mountain Hot Sauce. I opened the app not knowing what to expect since I hadn't previously ordered anything from them, and had received notification from Jeff saying that he would like to send me some regards for my disease, along with some of the sauces that him and his wife make. About a week later, after getting out of the hospital after a chemotherapy treatment, I received a package in the mail from the two of them. Included with all the products was a letter written from them saying that I always had the Boney family behind me, through my treatment. It's fantastic to know that there are still people who put the feelings and wellbeing of other ahead of themselves, and that's the one thing you can always count on when you think of Old Boney Mountain Hot Sauce, is family and support. Whether it be the Wounded Warrior foundation, or just even a random person from Instagram with cancer, they always put people first, and I'm glad to support them and the things they do."

You guys are doing wonderful things in terms of supporting all those organizations and charities. The hot sauce is the best I've ever had :-).

Hi Jeff - Last night had an impromptu dinner with 6 people. The dry peppers (Grotto Dust) were used in the gulf shrimp, steak combo. Used Kiwi Pear on top. SUPERIOR! YOU ROCK!
